The Hughes & Co Racing Club
A Different Way to Experience Racing
The Hughes & Co Racing Club offers a more accessible and sociable way to enjoy the world of racehorse ownership.
Rather than owning a share in a single horse, members gain access to a carefully selected pool of horses, trained across a number of respected yards in the UK. This approach provides variety, regular involvement, and a far more consistent racing experience throughout the season.
It is designed for those who appreciate the thrill of racing but prefer a more flexible and considered way to take part.
A Curated Racing Experience
As with all Hughes & Co services, the emphasis is placed firmly on quality and experience.
We work closely with a small number of trusted trainers and racing professionals to build a club portfolio of horses that offer genuine enjoyment, competitive opportunity, and strong connections.
Each horse benefits from a specialist, individual training programme tailored to its needs, supported by leading industry professionals. This includes schooling with highly respected figures such as Laura Collett MBE and Yogi Breisner, alongside regular equine physiotherapy to maintain peak condition and performance.
Members benefit not only from the performance of the horses, but from the access and insight that comes with being part of a well-managed and thoughtfully structured club.
What Membership Includes

A Morning on the Gallops at Jackdaws Castle
A morning at the yard offers a memorable and behind-the-scenes insight into racehorse training at the highest level.
Your visit begins with a champagne breakfast in the owners’ suite before heading into the yard to watch the horses as they prepare for exercise. From there, you will see them walk out onto the gallops and experience the rhythm of a professional racing yard.
Depending on the group, guests are either taken out onto the gallops in a 4x4 alongside the trainers or walk out to watch the horses in action. This provides a rare and close perspective as the horses move at speed, often accompanied by insight directly from the trainers themselves.
It is an immersive experience that brings members closer to the sport than most ever experience.
Yard Tours
A full yard tour builds on this experience, offering a detailed insight into the daily running of a leading racing yard.
Guests are guided through the facilities, including the equine swimming pool, solarium, schooling areas, tack room and colours room. There is also the opportunity to visit the stables and see the horses relaxed in their boxes or turned out in the paddocks.
The tour continues with a drive around the gallops, where the different surfaces and their role in each horse’s training programme are explained. Throughout the visit, the team provides insight into the level of care, attention and expertise required to produce racehorses at the highest level.
Depending on the day, members may also see leading jockeys schooling horses or observe the farriers at work as they prepare them for racing.
Smaller groups allow for a more personal and intimate experience.
When Your Horse is Racing
Race days provide the most exciting and rewarding part of the experience.
Members enjoy access to exclusive owners’ and trainers’ facilities, with the opportunity to go behind the scenes in the saddling area and listen in as trainers and jockeys discuss the race ahead.
You will have access to the paddock to see the horse up close before the race, followed by a personal debrief with the jockey and trainer afterwards.
The day continues in the owners’ and trainers’ areas, offering time to relax, reflect and enjoy the occasion with fellow members.
Access, Insight and Involvement
Membership of the Hughes & Co Racing Club offers far more than simply following results.
Members enjoy regular, more personal experiences with leading trainers, as well as access to high quality race day hospitality throughout the season.
It is an opportunity to experience the full thrill of racehorse involvement in a way that is social, engaging and shared with like-minded people.
A Broader Sporting Calendar
The Racing Club provides a natural extension to the Hughes & Co sporting calendar.
With multiple horses in training, members can enjoy regular runners across both the flat and National Hunt seasons, ensuring continued involvement throughout the year.
It offers a different pace and perspective to the shooting field, while maintaining the same sense of occasion, anticipation and shared experience.

The Hughes & Co Racing Club is intentionally limited in size to preserve the quality of experience and level of access for all members.
